Featured Activities
Our cadets get the opportunity to participate in many activities throughout the year. In addition to being loads of fun, one of the best parts is that they're all FREE! Not only do you have to pay virtually nothing, but you also get to grow and learn with your ROTC company. Your peers are more than just cadets, they're family; our program is a safe family environment free of cliques.
Some of the featured events include the Fall Retreat, Birthday Ball, Competitions, We Day, Regionals, Spring Camp, Inspection, and the Banquet.
Fall Retreat
Our Fall Retreat is the first major event and the first of two camps during the school year. It is a perfect introduction to the program and an incredible opportunity to meet other cadets in the program. Activities at previous fall camps include paintball, rappelling, medical courses, obstacle/confidence courses, etc.
Birthday Ball
Our Birthday Ball is the annual celebration of the Marine Corps birthday. The military ball is the first dress blues event of the year and is full of traditions and fun. After dinner, the females have the option to change into formal gowns before the dancing begins.

Competitions
Silas has been the Overall District Champion for three consecutive years! There are typically 3-4 district competitions per school year in addition to the regional meet. The competition dates this year are:
Cadets have the opportunity to compete on teams including Color Guard, Unarmed Drill, Armed Drill, Rifle, Strength, Academic, and Cyber Patriot. For more information on competition teams, please click here.
We Day
Cadets are dismissed after third period for the day to bond with the company. Each cadet is put into a "family group" (differentiated by T-shirt color) to spend the day with and learn more about themselves, others, and the program. It is a completely safe, judgment-free environment where cadets have the opportunity to reflect in their family groups. It is a blast full of food, games, and a raffle. Cadets have the option to stay at school for the company-only dance until 8!
Regionals
There are a total of 32 JROTC companies in our region. Only teams that place in the overall top three for each competition team per district have the opportunity to qualify for regionals. During the 2018-2019 season, our Armed Drill, Unarmed Drill, Rifle (Team A), Rifle (Team B), Strength, Academic, DUED (Team A), and DUED (Team B) competed at the regional meet.
Spring Camp
During this past school year, cadets with no failing grades had the chance to go with the company to Spring Lake in Paulsbo. Various activities included paintballing, high-ropes courses, rock climbing, hiking, etc. This photo was taken after one of the company's favorite events, the camp talent show. It's an amazing opportunity in a safe environment to share a skill that others may not know of. Who doesn't love to watch Colonel juggle?
Inspection
Every other year, Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Carruth comes out to inspect the unit. Did you know that our program is one of the three MCJROTC units in the region? Awards Banquet
The Awards Banquet is the final dress blues event of the year and is the perfect way to celebrate the season's successes. It is for ALL cadets, not just those who compete or are apart of the drill teams. With an end of the year video and dinner, it's a bittersweet farewell to the seniors and kickoff to the new year!
All of the listed events are just some of the opportunities throughout the year. Please keep in mind that they are all virtually free if not covered by the Marines Corps or fundraising. If you have any questions, please seek out the contact page.
